H2020: Fellowships & Funding Opportunities

Denmark / 15 AIAS-COFUND Fellowships available

AIAS has up to 15 AIAS-COFUND fellowships available for the most talented researchers from around the world and within all research disciplines and topics. Funding: The scheme is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (grant agreement no 754513) and Aarhus University Research Foundation. Eligibility: The target group of the programme is talented researchers at all career stages with a PhD and a minimum of two years of fulltime postdoctoral research experience at the time of the application deadline. Deadline: 23 January 2019

 

Innovative training networks (ITN / MSCA) - Call Open

Innovative Training Networks (ITN) is the main European doctoral training programme, putting a special emphasis on non-academic sector participation and the innovation dimension. Funding: fully funded by the EU’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action programme. Eligibility: The call is open to consortia of organisations such as universities, research centres or companies, that propose a research training network, including Indian state institutions. Deadline: 23 January 2019

 

10 PhD Positions in MSCA funded PARACAT project

The MSCA funded PARACAT project aims to educate and train a group of young researchers, including those from India, on implementing advanced spectroscopic methods (Electron Paramagnetic Resonance) for cutting edge research in the field of catalysis. Duration: 36 months Funding: The Early Stage Researcher (ESR) will receive a Monthly Living Allowance plus a Mobility Allowance consistent with the applicable EC Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions-ITN general conditions. Eligibility: You are an early stage researcher within the first four years of your research career; have not yet been awarded a doctoral degree (PhD); have not lived or carried out your main activity (work/study) in your host country for more than 12 months during the past three years. Deadline: 30 January 2019

 

15 PhD Positions in the MSCA Funded Tesla Project to Develop Space Technologies

The TESLA Innovative Training Network (ITN), a consortium of 8 academic universities and 11 industrial partners, will train 15 PhD students, i.e. Early Stage Researcher (ESR) fellows, in a vibrant, multidisciplinary training-through-research environment uniquely equipped to develop the Advanced Technologies for future European Satellite Applications. Eligibility: You are an early stage researcher within the first four years of your research career; have not yet been awarded a doctoral degree (PhD); have not lived or carried out your main activity (work/study) in your host country for more than 12 months during the past three years. Deadline: 30 January 2019

 

Open Call for 5 two-year postdoc fellowships at Erwin Schrödinger Center for Quantum Science and Technology ESQ

The Erwin Schrödinger Center for Quantum Science and Technology ESQ is run by the Austrian Academy of Sciences in partnership with the University of Vienna, the Vienna University of Technology and the University of Innsbruck, supported by the Austrian Ministry of Education, Science and Research. The fellowship can be with any of the ESQ research groups affiliated with the scientific institutions mentioned above. Eligibility: The call is open to young experienced researchers with either a doctoral degree or at least four years of full-time research experience by the time of the application deadline. Duration: 2 years Funding: co-funded by the European Commission Deadline: 31 January 2019

 

19 Pre-doctoral fellowships in health, agro food, and nutrition

The IberusTalent Programme is an International Doctoral Programme promoted by the Campus of International Excellence (CIE) Campus Iberus that, will offer 36 positions to excellent pre-doctoral researchers of any nationality to develop individual research projects in the fields of Agrofood and Nutrition or Health Technologies, at one of the four Recruiting Universities (U. La Rioja, U. Pública de Navarra, U. Zaragoza, U. Lleida). Duration: 36 months. Eligibility: You are an early stage researcher within the first four years of your research career; have not yet been awarded a doctoral degree (PhD); have not lived or carried out your main activity (work/study) in your host country for more than 12 months during the past three years. Deadline: 31 January 2019

 

ERC Consolidator Grants (CoG)

The Consolidator Grants are a great opportunity to consolidate your own project or research group. The CoG ERCs are designed to support excellent researchers in possession of a doctorate degree between 7 and 12 years old, and who are consolidating their own team and independent research line. Deadline: 7 February 2019

 

European Research Council (ERC) Proof of Concept Grant

Additional ERC funding scheme for researchers who already got an ERC grant (Starting, Consolidator, Advanced or Synergy) which is either ongoing or where the project has ended less than 12 months before the publication date of an ERC Proof of Concept call. Eligibility: All nationalities. Funding: Funding per grant up to EUR 150,000. Duration: up to 18 months. Deadline: 22 January 2019, 25 April 2019 and 19 September 2019

 

EuroTechPostdoc Programme – Call for Applications

The Allliance’s EuroTechPostdoc Programme is a postdoctoral fellowship programme for young experienced researchers who have already demonstrated excellence and potential in their field of research. Eligibility: Applicants must fulfil the following eligibility criteria in order to be able to participate in the evaluation and selection process (more details in link). Funding: From the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement. Duration: up to 24 months Deadline: 28 February 2019

 

MathInParis - PhD Fellowships for a doctoral training programme in Mathematics

The international Doctoral Training in Mathematical Sciences in Paris -MathInParis- Co-funded by Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions offers 40 PhD fellowships within the framework of the European Horizon 2020 program "Marie Sklodowska-Curie Co-funding of Regional, National and International Programmes". Eligibility: All candidates must have a Master degree (or equivalent) at the time of their enrollment and should speak French or English. There is no nationality or age criteria. Funding: They will get a 2710 € as monthly gross salary (including employer cost).Duration: 36 months Deadline: 1 April 2019

 

MSCA-RISE Call 2019

MSCA Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE) funds short-term exchanges of personnel between academic, industrial and commercial organisations throughout the world. It helps people develop their knowledge, skills and careers, while building links between organisations working in different sectors of the economy, including universities, research institutes and SMEs. Funding: From the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement. Deadline: 2 April 2019

 

14 PhD Positions at European Universities to Develop New Tools for Biomedical Research

14 Early-Stage Researcher (PhD) positions to begin in 2019, as part of the Innovative Training Network of the European Commission “LOGIC LAB”. The LOGIC LAB project aims to develop a new concept for molecular logic sensors for application in intracellular diagnostics. Funding: Highly competitive and attractive salaries are offered, plus mobility and family allowances as applicable. EU-India Call: Next Generation Influenza Vaccine to protect citizens worldwide

The Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, and the Delegation of the European Union to India announce the EU-India call on Next Generation Influenza Vaccine. The European Commission (EC) through the EU funding programme for research and innovation 'Horizon 2020' and the Department of Biotechnology have committed a funding of EUR 30 million. Deadline: 16 April 2019

Hungary / Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme

The programme is based on bilateral educational cooperation agreements signed between the Ministries responsible for education in the sending countries/territories and Hungary or between institutions. Austria / Fellowship Program for Art and Theory Buchsenhausen

Once a year Künstlerhaus Büchsenhausen invites professional visual /media artists, art theorists, art critics, and curators from all over the world are eligible for the fellowship. Candidates can apply for a five-month fellowship starting in October ongoing until May of the following year. The application must include a concrete work proposition. Work on the submitted proposal forms the core of each fellow’s activities during his/her stay in Büchsenhausen. Deadline: 25 January 2019

 

Germany / International Climate Protection Fellowship for young climate experts from developing countries

With the International Climate Protection Fellowships, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation enables 20 prospective leaders in academia and industry to implement a research-based proposal in the field of climate protection or climate-related resource conservation. Duration: 1-year. Eligibility: Active in any of the following areas: scientific, engineering-based, legal, economic, health-related or social aspects of climate change. Funding: Monthly fellowship of between €2,150 and €2,650, depending on your qualifications. Deadline: 1 March 2019

 

Switzerland / Summer Programs 2019: Training, Conference & 3 Month Research

IPD announces the next International Summer Programs for 2019, which are to be held in Basel, Switzerland. Applicants can choose between the 1- or 2-days Basel Global Peace Conference, 10- or 20-day Summer Academy or the 3-Month Research Program, which may be combined with the 10- or 20-day Training + Conference participation, depending on the filled application. Early Bird Application & Payment Deadline: 1 May 2019
